ITAWi reviews, analyzes and monitors key pieces of legislation, proposed regulatory changes and governmental activity for its members. These pieces of legislation and departmental activity impact, either directly or indirectly, the entire IT Sector in Wisconsin.

ITAWi actively initiates, supports or opposes bills and/or governmental actions such as the Department of Revenue's interpretation of tax legislation or the Department of Commerce's interpretation of ACT 255 certifications for tax credits. To effectively pass legislation, change a bill or create exemptions, many hours are spent meeting with legislators, attending committee hearings, interacting with department heads, testifying and building coalitions with other affected industries. ITAWi keeps members up to date on pending legislation and regulatory actions that will affect members' bottom lines and provides a vehicle for proactive efforts and knowledge, rather than surprise and reactivity.
